About Counsellor Julie Matthews
Julie Matthews is the inspirational force behind Kids Counselling, a specialist counselling practice for children and their families.
Julie is a skilled counsellor and teacher with over 35 years experience dealing with primary and secondary school students and extensive involvement with single parent families and children with grief and behavioural issues.
Julie is well known for her work as a children's counsellor, consultant and author especially through her specialist Counselling Practice Kids Counselling in Bairnsdale, Paynesville and Eagle Point Victoria.
Believing that 'love is at the heart of well-being' Julie created Kids Counselling™ as an invitation to all children to learn to share their emotions and grow. She aims to support families in a safe and loving environment, while offering practical strategies for coping with life.
She is the author of the FAMILY SURVIVAL HANDBOOK SERIES - SPLIT and SWAP, FEEL and DO, ACHE and HURT and TALK and HEAR.
The Australian Council for Educational Research has published DIGGING DEEP - Helping boys deal with their emotions.

Julie consults in primary and secondary schools and is a presenter at numerous workshops and seminars on child and family issues.
Julie has qualifications in Counselling, Student Welfare, Business Management and Teaching. She is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors and the Australian Counselling Association.
Julie's commitment and passion towards helping families and in particular children has culminated in the establishment of a pre eminent counselling practice for frustrated and troubled families.
Kids Counselling has won three Awards for Outstanding Achievement and Excellence in Business.
Julie's endeavors in the area of children and family welfare were publicly recognized when the Whitehorse Business Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Home Based Business Category was awarded to Kids Counselling.
Julie was further rewarded by winning the Overall Best Business Award for Outstanding Achievement in the City of Whitehorse, and received an Outstanding Achievement Award in the Home Based Business Category.
